Realtor shares insights with clients from long-term resident perspective
Realtor Wendy Bernstein with Bernstein Realty takes pride in guiding clients to their perfect homes in a city where she’s lived for over 40 years.
Her main focus areas are throughout Houston including Memorial Villages, West University, Bellaire, the Heights and Tanglewood.
Bernstein’s first-hand experience and perspective can assist clients to target their specific wish list.
“I have watched these areas grow and change over time,” said Bernstein. “Each of these areas has their own unique charm, energy and vibe.”
With low home inventory, Bernstein said it’s a seller’s market. She has seen multiple offers on homes on go-option pending within days of going live on Multiple Listing Service (MLS).
“Many buyers are taking advantage of the low interest rate and wanting to get settled into their new home due to concerns that interest rates will rise soon. For first-time home buyers, buying a home can be an excellent opportunity to pay a mortgage, which is often less than their rent,” she said.
As a University of Texas graduate with a degree in marketing, Bernstein, who raised her family in Memorial then Bellaire, became a Realtor in the mid-1980s. She currently resides in a high-rise in Uptown.
“I wanted to be involved with a career that is exciting, fun and action packed. This hits it on all levels. The people aspect of my career is what I love most,” said Bernstein.
Her former career in retail sales allowed Bernstein to utilize her creativity. With real estate, she does the same while developing relationships with clients, many who have become dear friends she stated.
“While working, you really get to know the person, the couple, and the family by helping them find the perfect house, or sell their home that they have built many memories in. The biggest compliment I can receive is my friends placing their trust and confidence in me to assist them with their real estate needs. In residential real estate, no two transactions are the same, so I am learning and expanding my knowledge daily,” said Bernstein, who volunteers extensively for non-profit organizations.
Her dedication to real estate earned Bernstein a Top Producer recognition at the end of her first year. She has also received the Rising Star Award from Bernstein Realty.
She credits her communication, listening, people and marketing skills as her strong personal traits in addition to time management.
“I don’t like being late for appointments, and I am always prepared. You have to be in this market. I strive to find the work-life and family life balance that works best for my family and clients,” Bernstein said.
