Realtor of the Week: 2020 top 5 producer said west Houston and beyond ‘on fire’

Realtor Janice Ratliff with Bernstein Realty, who loves selling homes in her area where she has lived since 1991, has seen the area boom for homeownership.

Ratliff, the 2020 Achievement of Excellence Award winner at Bernstein Realty, sells homes primarily in Katy, Fulshear, Richmond and West Houston. In addition, she has sold over the entire city of Houston including The Woodlands, West University, the Heights, Garden Oaks, Spring Valley and acreage farms.

As a Cinco Ranch resident for over 25 years, Ratliff said her area is “on fire.”

“The last 10 homes I listed in this area have sold in average of four days, all with multiple offers,” said Ratliff. “If you are listing agent that is great. As a buyer in this market, you need to have an experienced agent to navigate the offer process. Know what questions to ask before you even prepare your offer. Happy to say almost every buyer I have represented the last year had their offers accepted.”

Ratliff, a native Houstonian, celebrated her 31st anniversary with Bernstein Realty in May 2020.

She chose this career after working for a family that had a large portfolio of properties all over the U.S. for over 10 years.

“I learned the business by actively working with brokers and builders. We were flipping houses long before it became so popular. We had homes in River Oaks, Tanglewood, Briargrove and even some in Aspen, Colorado. I loved watching the process as the client. I always thought ‘I could do that,’ and so I did,” she said.

With her strong reputation for attention to detail and precise execution of transactions, Ratliff is a multiple award winner and has been recognized as a top producer numerous times with Bernstein Realty.

She stressed how vital keeping communication lines open with clients is when working with them. Ratliff is also known for her commitment, knowledge, work ethic and responsiveness as well as being skilled at decorating and home staging.

“I believe good communication is the key. So many of my clients buy several homes over the years. They remember how hard I work at keeping them informed throughout the process,” said Ratliff, a relocation specialist and Certified Home Marketing Specialist.

Ratliff and her husband, also a Realtor who works as her associate and professional photographer, give back to their community in numerous ways. Over the years, they’ve been the local Santa and Mrs. Claus for over 30 years and held fundraisers for homeless children.
